I think it happens when you try to edit a preview..beware...I have no energy to re-do this...was home at 3:15 Am from New Haven and up at 8...and need some sleep now to head out to Troy, NY.

You should know I ranted about drunken, barefoot girl who went on stage during NBTW solo and started banging the bass drum bongo style AND was obnoxious post show. Fans shouldn't interject themselves into the performance like that IMHO

This is as close as I'm ever gonna get to Yale. Right on campus, across from a gothic stone high rise library on a street lined with stone buildings and gates, fairly dripping with history, is Toad's Place. Toad's has its own history….since 1976, as One Away would say, a stage that's been graced by greats, near greats and ingrates..perhaps none greater then The Rolling Stones in 1989. Unless it's Dylan's 4 set, 5 hour show in 1990, his first club date in 25 years.

Tonight's it GPN turn. Parking on the street, Wally and Keri walk by and John, Steve, and Laura are working the front of the line with Posse cards. I slip next door to a restaurant that must be a gold mine with this campus location, and snare a couple 'o slices of pizza that I come back and munch in the line. The line heads in and I hang back for a minute, before heading in to join wally and Keri in the non-drinking section. How appropriate….Not that it's purgatory, we are right in front the Rhodes, as a bicycle fence juts out from the corner of the B-3 to the back of the room. First timer Gabrielle ,with her mother, is with us.

Blues and Lazers is getting' the crowd going, but I only am able to catch the first 4 songs before heading out on an errand.

Highlights tonight: Matt is strong throughout

Who Knows: With Benny Yurco on guitar, Grace takes the mic. At one point, she goes down on her haunches at the front of the stage. She comes up slowly, swinging her hips, like a cobra coming out of the basket…never seen that move before

Lowlights tonight: Power went off to keyboards during BWG. Grace motioned to the tech, who responded by bring her a V instead of finding the problem. Then, on first encore ah Mary, he brought her the wrong V. She hit the first chord and Scott just started laughing, Grace joined him with a smile, and then got correct V from the Tech

NBTW: during the 4 way, drunken, barefoot girl hopped upon stage and plodded to the bass drum, which she started to play like a bongo. Bobby, on the far corner, was making the slash move across his throat to the closer monitor guy, who did not see him, so Bobby came across the stage and grabbed her. She seemed to plead to the band "Do you want me to go.?" Grace nodded yes, but Matt waived Bobby off "Let her stay". Bobby shrugged and left. When the solo ended, she kept playing for several seconds and resisted leaving the stage. Not good.

After the show, Gabrielle had a set list, and a drumstick courtesy of Wally and Keri who had caught it. I took her downstairs to get Matt to sign it. He was outside the green room, getting harassed by drunken barefoot girl who wanted in. Matt directed his attention to Gabrielle, and could only smile and shake his head at the pain. He is SO good natured..

A few minutes later, coming out of the green room, I actually had to jostle drunken barefoot girl to get her away from the door so I could close it..

Home by 3:15 And up at 8 AM to get in to Harvard Square. From Yale to Harvard in 8:30 hours. Like I said, the closest I'm ever gonna get…
