With one foot in the past, one foot in the present, and eyes fixed firmly
on the horizon, Grace Potter and The (New) Nocturnals blasted out of the T Bone Burnett produced studio sessions for their first romp through the GPN back
catalogue. Looking a lot like the view from the stage at the Burlington waterfront, {except of course, for the palm trees and no mountains on the other side of
the water(!) } the Renaissance Stage at Donehey Blues Festival was a great warm up for the upcoming tour. Earning an encore from the crowd, but unable to
return to the stage due to the imminent start of Brian Setzer's set on the other stage, The Nocs marched into the future with a reworked gem from the past.
2:22 was the surprise opener, all electric blues. The crowd was officially "grabbed"...allowing Grace to later note "I don't know why they
had us here at a Blues Fest".

With a nod to James Brown, Grace announced "Mama's got a brand new band" mid set with the first formal introduction of Benny Yurco
