Several weeks ago a co-worker asked who was the photos of that was displayed on my PC's wallpaper/background. Since the Sept. 25th show at the Wilbur
Theatre I have had a great photo that I took of Grace singing into the mike. Of the 50 or so photos I took that night it was the one I liked best. I told her
it was Grace Potter and that I have taken that photo myself at a recent show. My female co-worker, in her fifties was familiar with several GPN songs from
airplay on Boston's WERS radio but she had never seen her live or seen a photo of any of the band. She told my that she really liked the band yet had no
GPN CDs yet. I told her that I had a great live recording on CD that I had downloaded from the Live Music Archive of the Lincoln Center's Allen Room venue
from earlier this year and that I would make a copy for her. Well, I brought her in those two CDs a couple of days later and for wekks she raved about the
fantastic music on them. Earlier this week she told me that over the Thanksgiving Holiday that her college aged daughter had come home and while visiting there
found the two live CDs I had burned for her. The daughter listened to them when her Mom was out of the house for awhile and asked "where did you get that
great GPN CD, Mom?" later and was told how she came into them. Her daughter went back to school on Sunday. On Monday my co-worker Moms went looking for
those two live GPN CDs and they were nowhere to be found. I quick email to daughter and reply revealed that she had absconded with said recordings and brought
them back to school with her. I guess if those CDs survive a Spring Break trip them Moms might get them back come summertime. In the meantime it's only
fair that I burn another copy. So my advice to everyone is to take your GPN and pass it on...

hehehe And Mom needs another copy! Or better yet ... The Daughter needs another show ... Allen Room has awesome sound ... Apologies solo on the Grand Piano is
amazing ... But it was a very laid back show as the opera house crowd was just that. You are exactly right though ... Give some GPN to two friends ... Then
they'll tell two friends ... And they'll tell two friends ... And so on ... And so on ....

This thread came to mind while I was at the DC show this past weekend. We met a mother and daughter duo that were seeing thier first GPN show. The daughter
told me that she had discoverd them via Dave Matthews Band website. They were so friendly and excited to be there. I was hoping to catch them after the show to
see how they liked it but I missed them. Given what a kick ass show that was, I have a feeling that I will run into them the next time GPN swings into DC.

and, a similar occurrence happened to a guitar we had - I had bought it for my husband; son came home for college break, used the guitar, borrowed it and went
off to college again - that guitar is LONG gone.
Also, one of our friends and her mom both enjoy "This is Somewhere" - we treated the daughter to a show and the rest is history - now the mother wants to see GPTN live. |

Most excellent. I've tracked down a few of the shows I've been to on LMA and passed them out to fellow music lovers. I never really had the follow
through though to see if they enjoyed it as much as I did. Ha! Burlington show from last August is still spinnin' in my girlfriend's car though.

Brought four kids (8, 9, 12, 13) to the Waterfront show last night. Seemed like they enjoyed themselves, especially the younger two. I had a great time too,
holding them up on my shoulders to see better and helping them with their dance moves...

dancing money! Just saw an 18 yr old friend who was there with a heavy metal fan buddy from home (Isla Morada, Fl) He was completely blow away!!!

I thank my gods REAL, good music is still kickin' ass in this marasma of FALSE and PLASTIC stupidity (since the 80s, may I add) that is around us!
